One of five new Australian animals specially created for Milk Tooth in 2021, Forest Melody's Echidna wooden toy is chunky and beautiful. Painted primarily in a deep brown, Forest Melody have cleverly represented the Echidna's spikes using a series of black and mustard brushstrokes and spots. Our sweet Echidna features a long snout and little black eyes. Each Forest Melody wooden animal is handmade from gorgeous, textural alder wood.

The gentle Echidna is a land-dwelling monotreme, laying eggs instead of birthing live young. Echidnas are found in bushland and forests, and use their long tongues to primarily eat ants and termites or worms and insect larvae, depending on the species.

Being handcrafted, each of Forest Melody's beautiful offerings is unique, with slightly different shaping, wood markings, grain, and knots showing through any dye or paint finishes, which themselves might vary slightly in colour or application.

Please do not submerge in water. Spotclean with a damp cloth. Not suitable for children under the age of 3yo. Please carefully inspect your toy before use. Small parts may break off and pose a choking hazard. Not to be used as a teether.
