How The Stars Came To Be tells the story of of a fisherman's daughter who is worried her father will be unable to find his way back home during the few nights each month when there is no moon. The sun sees the girl crying and takes pity on her, shattering a golden ray into a million pieces and telling her to place them into the sky. The girl does so carefully, creating beautiful pictures and constellations but not making much headway into the thousands and thousands of pieces in her basket. How will she have the time to finish? Perhaps a curious monkey will provide some unexpected help.
