Golden Cockerel Hollow Wooden Eggs are very high quality and can be used year after year to hide chocolate or other small treats for Easter (or throughout the year). The Hollow Eggs have been hand-carved in Polkhovski Maidan, the biggest centre of traditional nesting doll production in Russia. The eggs have a flattened bottom so they are self-standing. You and your child might like to draw, paint, or woodburn your egg to make it extra special and unique to your family. Martha Stewart demonstrated this project on her TV show using a set of Golden Cockerel Nesting Eggs. 

Outside of Easter, play with the Wooden Eggs to explore the concept of object permanence with your child (now you see it, now you don't!) or encourage their imaginative role play by suggesting they "cook" their egg in a pretend play kitchen.

Beware of imitation hollow eggs that have been mass-produced in factories in Asia. These are not the same quality as the original hollow and nesting eggs created by Golden Cockerel.

Being handcrafted from natural materials, each of Golden Cockerel's beautiful offerings is unique, with slightly different shaping, size, wood markings, grain, and knots. Wood putty may occasionally be used to fill knots.  This creates a smooth surface for the application of your own artwork.

All materials and finishes used are child-safe, however they are not intended to be mouthed or wet. Please use under adult supervision. Please carefully inspect your toy before use. Small parts may break off and pose a choking hazard. Not to be used as a teether.
