The Ostheimer Kinderkram Castle Portcullis is a very impressive wooden castle piece. Children can move the gate up and down to welcome in or exclude visitors by using the simple rotating mechanism at the back. The Portcullis is 29.5cm and 29cm high and can be used on its own for story-telling or as an addition to an Ostheimer castle. It's made of solid alder wood and finished with natural oils. You might like to pair the Portcullis with the Kinderkram Bridge for Portcullis.

All Ostheimer and Kinderkram castle parts are compatible to enable you to build a magical world, as fast or slow as you like. All parts of the Kinderkram and Ostheimer Castle are hand-crafted using solid alder wood from sustainable domestic forestry. 

All Ostheimer wooden toys are traced by hand onto natural, native hardwood (alder, maple, elm, or ash), before being cut and sanded and then finished off by hand with up to six coats of non-toxic, water-soluble, transparent colour that is designed to show the beautiful woodgrain beneath. The soft edges of each toy are a hallmark of Ostheimer and what makes them just so lovely to play with. All Ostheimer toys meet the European and international safety standards and the European NORM EN 71 for toys.

As each Ostheimer toy is created and finished by hand, they vary slightly in terms of shape, colouring, and the amount of woodgrain or knots showing through the colouring. Each piece is perfectly unique. Please note they are not varnished.
